On Saturday, March 25th marches, rallies and actions took place across globe to speak out against Monsanto and genetically engineered foods.  It was reported the marches and actions were held in 52 countries and 436 cities.

Video by lymeguy1 which visually demonstrates what took place across the globe and how many places took part in the Global Day Against Monsanto:

Here in Tempe, Arizona over 1,000 people (some are reporting 3,000) marched from Tempe Farmers Market to the FDA field office at Third and Mill. The march included people of all ages ranging from very young babies to grandmas. Some in the crowd want to see genetically engineered foods labeled while others want to see it banned from the food supply. There were anarchist, democrats, libertarians and republicans all walking together for a common goal-to speak loudly against GMO’s and Monsanto.

Video by Josette Madonia at rally before the march with Shannon Rivers of the Gila River Indian Community talking about our food supply, Monsanto, and Indigenous people:

Monsanto released this statement to Fox News about the marches:

“While we respect each individuals’ right to express their point of view on these topics, we are making a contribution to improving agriculture by helping people produce more from their land while conserving natural resources such as water and energy.”

The farmers who have sued Monsanto, the scientists across the globe who have researched the environmental impacts of genetically engineered crops, and the parents who want to see GMO’s labeled do not share this viewpoint. On March 25th, 2013 Monsanto woke up to find there is a global army of millions beating down on their door. That same army discovered that they are not alone and there are many others who share in their goal to “Deport Monsanto”.
